Current evaluation

Destructive lifecycle builds now fail when the build plan base is incompatible with the host; fixed by merged PR #263 (commit b916620e).

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: PR #263 was merged as commit b916620e and explicitly fixes #154. It adds lifecycle checks that raise an incompatibility error instead of building on an unsupported host base.

Issue body

### What needs to get done Fail early with a good error message if the application is running a lifecycle command in destructive mode and the build plan is incompatible with the running environment (for example, running in Arch Linux) ### Why it needs to get done The current behavior is to... pretend it worked? It might actually "work" depending on the project, but at best the built artifact will contain nonsense.
