Current evaluation

Python plugin pyproject.toml support merged in canonical/craft-parts#435 (438951f7) and released in 1.20.0; the issue was later closed as already complete.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: PR #435 added pyproject.toml project support in commit 438951f7, and the changelog records it in release 1.20.0. The closing maintainer confirmed support had already been complete for some time.

Issue body

As of [PEP621](https://peps.python.org/pep-0621/), it is recommended that Python projects store their metadata in a pyprojects.toml file rather than the setup.py file. It would be good if this would also be supported by snapcraft.
