### What needs to get done Similar to #236, bringing the gradle plugin up to date with core22. ### Why it needs to get done There is a lack of plugins that support Java builds in core22. Also, it would be useful for [this use case](https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/the-gradle-plugin/5390/2).
