Issue body

I'd like my remote part to be able to specify some layout options. I want to make a remote part that can do this too. My idea: https://github.com/gerboland/xwayland-kiosk-helper/commit/233797606d4f33bdca29dce939fe91dcce2d4f62#diff-184032a532406b07009403e26f4fc62f The use-case is a helper that launches Xwayland before an X11 application. Xwayland has some hardcoded paths that layouts fix. Ideally I'd like to hide the Xwayland layout stuff from the user. Something to think of when formally enabling layouts in snapcraft
