Current evaluation

Autopkgtests did not install the generated example snaps. Fixed by snapcraft PR #481 (commit ca2c23904, "autopkgtests: run the install examples tests in classic"), shipped in snapcraft 2.9 and released to xenial -updates; bug auto-closed by ~janitor after verification.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: Snapcraft PR #481, commit ca2c23904, added classic-snapped autopkgtests that install the built example snaps. ~janitor closed the bug noting the fix landed in snapcraft 2.9, and ~elopio verified 2.9 in xenial -proposed (tag verification-done), after which the SRU moved to -updates.

Issue body

With the new snappy on ubuntu classic we can install the example snaps we generate with snapcraft, and test them on the same testbed. [Impact] * No impact for users. * This will improve the quality of the project on ubuntu classic by adding more tests. [Test Case] * Run the autopkgtests. * The examples are just build, not installed. [Regression Potential] * N/A. This will prevent future regressions.
