Issue body
Bash scripts are really flexible and easy to use, they can be used to build projects and get dependencies. Most importantly if there is a new language or tool that is not supported by snapcraft, the bash plugin will almost always be a workaround to allow that language/tool to be used in making a snap.
I have already submitted a pull request here: https://github.com/snapcore/snapcraft/pull/664
