Current evaluation

Requested opt-in ELF stripping during stage/prime, including cross-architecture tool selection; acknowledged as roadmap work, but current Snapcraft has no general --strip option.

Suggested action: keep open

Reason: Maintainer @~kyrofa explicitly said this was on the roadmap but unimplemented and documented an install-scriptlet workaround. The current tree still exposes no --strip option; although the ELF patcher uses a bundled strip command internally, it does not provide the requested opt-in lifecycle behavior.

Issue body

need a way to get stripped binary. currently is possible manual between stage and prime steps.(eg. with strip ./bin/*) probaly with an additional option --strip on stage or ptime steps. Please note, it must at cross-compiling (at eg. armhf) "arm-linux-grueabihf-strip" instead "strip" used. it can be also from $STRIP derived (if present)
