Current evaluation

Launchpad builds lacked libunity in LD_LIBRARY_PATH; maintainers concluded the app improperly relied on Unity private libraries, so no Snapcraft fix is warranted.

Suggested action: close not a bug

Reason: The reporter supplied an exact wrapper-script diff, but ~didrocks concluded that this was not a bug because the application directly loads private Unity libraries that provide no API or protocol guarantee. Earlier maintainers also clarified that plugs were not connected to the build environment, making the differing LD_LIBRARY_PATH expected.

Issue body

if built on launchpad buildd, snapcraft does not add $SNAP/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libunity to LD_LIBRARY_PATH in the wrapper script. This results in the error: ** (process:28769): WARNING **: Failed to load shared library 'libunity.so.9' referenced by the typelib: libunity-protocol-private.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1602845/comments/7 however if you run snapcraft locally everything works: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1602845/comments/10 the assumtion that snapcraft is outdated on buildd is not true. As you can see here version 2.20 (latest) is used: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/291705533/buildlog_snap_ubuntu_xenial_arm64_teatime_BUILDING.txt.gz the difference is the following line in the command-teatime.wrapper: -export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$SNAP/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" +export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$SNAP/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu:$SNAP/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libunity:$SNAP/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pulseaudio:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
