Current evaluation

Snapcraft's generated app PATH still omits $SNAP/usr/local/bin, so executables installed by Autotools using its default prefix are not found; maintainers confirmed the defect.

Suggested action: keep open

Reason: Maintainer ~zyga marked the report CONFIRMED because the command wrappers lacked the desired entry. Current snapcraft/meta/snap_yaml.py still omits $SNAP/usr/local/bin in both branches that generate the default PATH, so the defect remains unfixed and needs the defaults plus regression tests and documentation updated.

Issue body

In /snap/*/current/command-*.wrapper, PATH is "$SNAP/usr/sbin:$SNAP/usr/bin:$SNAP/sbin:$SNAP/bin:$PATH". This should include $SNAP/usr/local/bin. Autotools defaults to it for prefix, so it's easy to trip over this one just as the ffmpeg part did: https://github.com/Winael/ffmpeg/pull/1
