Issue body
I am still very much a new snap developer. I'm trying to get things done rather than understanding everything, so I'm searching for information rather than reading the whole documentation (that's the backstory of why I don't know the things below)
In trying to find how to deal with user configuration files, I ended up at this link: https://docs.ubuntu.com/core/en/guides/build-device/config-hooks
From that page, it sounds like a config hook is what I want. I understand that the file which will be executed needs to be in the meta/hooks/ directory inside the snap, but I've no idea how to make that happen. Could some extra signposting please be added to help out devs in a similar situation.
