Reason: Maintainer Sergio Jansens explicitly declined remote-part passthrough because it could spread experimental keys and cause Store rejection. The author then opened snapcraft#1768248 for first-class layout support.

I'm using passthrough to specify some "layouts" in my snaps.
I want to make a remote part that can do this too. My attempt:

Sadly the passthrough property doesn't pass through to the final snap.yaml.
The use-case is a helper that launches Xwayland before an X11 application. Xwayland has some hardcoded paths that layouts fix. Ideally I'd like to hide the Xwayland layout stuff from the user.
