Current evaluation

Added a Snapcraft channel override for build providers when host injection is unavailable; fixed by merged PR canonical/snapcraft#2265 in commit 6a3d2d3cd.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: Merged PR canonical/snapcraft#2265 implemented channel selection for non-injected build providers in commit 6a3d2d3cd. The maintainer linked that PR as the resolution.

Issue body

We do not have a clean way to enable early testing of new features when not running from the snapcraft snap like when on darwin. This should be enabled through a feature flag SNAPCRAFT_BUILD_ENVIRONMENT_SNAPCRAFT_CHANNEL (leaving room to set channels for bases)
