Inject host's core* and snapcraft snaps when using --use-lxd
Metadata
Current evaluation
Implemented via canonical/snapcraft PR #1364 (commit 99f5598ac), which injects the host's snapcraft and core* snaps into LXD build containers, matching Multipass behaviour. Closed 2020-05-26 as already released.
Resolution: closed resolved
Reason: Merged PR #1364 (commit 99f5598ac, "lxd: inject snapcraft and core snaps into the container") added snap injection to the LXD provider, and maintainer ~sergiusens closed the bug 2020-05-26 noting it "has been released many moons ago". Earlier (~sergiusens, 2019-04-17) noted it required the snapd 2.38 host-snaps API.

Issue body
It seems that when Snapcraft is building in the Multipass environment it injects the snaps in the host directly into the build VM without downloading them from the Snap Store. However, when using LXD (--use-lxd) to build it isn't doing the same, which will make the build relatively longer.
I would like to ask to make the LXD experience similar as in Multipass.
