Current evaluation

MAAS snap installs segfault on ppc64le in older and stable releases because of libsnapcraft-preload; 3.3/edge installs successfully, but stable-channel resolution remains unconfirmed.

Suggested action: keep open

Reason: This is a reproducible architecture-specific installation blocker: multiple users reported hook segfaults, and maintainer diagnosis identified libsnapcraft-preload.so with a minimal LD_PRELOAD reproducer. MAAS 3.3/edge revision 25371 installed successfully, but there is no evidence that affected stable releases or the underlying packaging issue are fixed, so the issue should remain open for current-channel verification.

Issue body

I'm not able to install MAAS from snap on ppc64le machines. I've Tried with Ubuntu Bionic and Focal: First, upgrading snapd: `Unpacking snapd (2.45.1+18.04) over (2.42.1+18.04)` ``` $ sudo snap install maas error: cannot perform the following tasks: - Run install hook of "maas" snap if present (run hook "install": /snap/maas/7809/meta/hooks/install: line 61: 22535 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$SNAP/bin/maas-wrapper" migrate --configure) ``` ``` ubuntu@wichita:~$ snap list Name Version Rev Tracking Publisher Notes core18 20200427 1752 latest/stable canonical* base maas-cli 0.6.5 15 latest/stable canonical* - snapd 2.45.1 8143 latest/stable canonical* snapd ``` trying 2.7: ``` $ sudo snap install maas --channel=2.7/stable error: cannot perform the following tasks: - Run install hook of "maas" snap if present (run hook "install": signal: segmentation fault (core dumped)) ```
