Current evaluation

Closed as stale after 60 days without activity; no code fix was made. Maintainers directed headless users to export-login or a configured keyring and the authentication documentation.

Resolution: closed stale

Reason: The 2022-12-11 janitor comment explicitly closed the report because it had been inactive for 60 days. A maintainer had already identified the supported workaround using export-login or a configured keyring.

Issue body

Found on snapcraft v7.1.3 rev8187 other versions not checked. Steps to reproduce: Log in via SSH or virtual terminal run "snapcraft login" enter user and password Results: A python stackdump that seems to involve trying to use a keyring which probably can't exist because there's no desktop session. Negative test: Repeat steps in a terminal emulator. Command succeeds.
