Reason: Snapcraft PR #1768, 'project: export the arch triplet into the environment', was merged as commit 5df5ab8d5 and set SNAPCRAFT_ARCH_TRIPLET from info.arch_triplet in the lifecycle script environment. The variable is still present in current code at snapcraft/parts/lifecycle.py:578, later refined by PR #4313/#4332 into SNAPCRAFT_ARCH_TRIPLET_BUILD_ON/BUILD_FOR.
