RFC spike #1966 proposed architecture-aware transformations for `to` but was closed unmerged. Related compound `on..to` grammar later merged in #2088 (d81e0fa38).

Resolution: closed stale

Reason: The PR was explicitly an RFC spike expected to need more tests, received no review or CI, and its only comment requested input from another maintainer. It remained unmerged and inactive for years; #2088 later delivered related compound grammar separately.

Have you discussed the design on the [forum](https://forum.snapcraft.io)? - [ ] Have you successfully run `./runtests.sh static`? - [ ] Have you successfully run `./runtests.sh unit`? ----- This is an RFC spike. Tests will almost certainly fail, and several need to be added. This involves the introduction of a transformation function to optionally transform primitives. This is done because package names coming from the `to` statement need to have the architecture appended to them, but URLs/directory names (such as those used in `source`) certainly do not.

stealth/space-bunny-alpha — closed stale The unmerged RFC spike proposed optional primitive transformations so package names could receive architecture suffixes without altering source URLs or directories. It was left for maintainer follow-up.
qwen/qwen3.6-35b-a3b — — Abandoned without merging. The pull request was an RFC spike to add to statement support in source grammar, introducing a transformation function for package names. Lacking review and with failing tests, it was closed.
qwen3.6-35b-a3b-mtp-q6 — — Abandoned as an RFC spike. Proposed a transformation function to append architecture to package names in the to statement. Closed without merging or further development.
