icon and license are deprecated
Metadata
Current evaluation
Icon paths in snapcraft.yaml were restored as preferred by canonical/snapcraft#914 (4a4435cbe); unsupported license metadata was removed by canonical/snapcraft#880 (1dab7aaed).
Resolution: closed resolved
Reason: canonical/snapcraft#914 merged as 4a4435cbe and explicitly references LP #1610268, restoring declared icons over setup-directory conventions. canonical/snapcraft#880 removed license concepts because snapd had no corresponding functionality.

Issue body
(I suspect this is WONTFIX)
snapcraft.yaml lets you specify the path to your icon and license file, so to snap your project all you need is the snapcraft.yaml at the top of your project and you are done.
Unfortunately these options are deprecated, and you now need to duplicate or link your existing files to a location dictated by snapcraft.
