Current evaluation

Snapcraft's prime step can replace a staged .deb library with a different host /usr .so; a maintainer reproduced the stage/prime mismatch, but no resolution is recorded.

Suggested action: keep open

Reason: mterry explicitly reproduced the problem and reported that stage/ was correct while prime/ contained a different libalsa-util.so, confirming a real lifecycle bug. The issue remains open with no resolving PR or commit, so its age alone is not grounds for closure.

Issue body

How to reproduce:   http://paste.ubuntu.com/23563951/ If you do the process from scratch again without the 'cp' they do differ. I was not expecting what i have in /usr influencing the contents of the snap file

keep open Reporter (with reproducer on paste.ubuntu.com) reports snapcraft primes a .so from the host /usr copy rather than from the staged .deb; mterry reproduced it — stage/ is correct but prime/ differs. Still open, no fix.

close stale 2016-era report that snapcraft picked up .so files from the host /usr instead of from .deb packages, so snap contents depended on the host system. No maintainer response or labels. Likely obsolete since snapcraft now builds inside a confined core base.
