Current evaluation

Host-dependent plainbox-provider validation failure was fixed by merged snapcraft PR #1611 (commit 467e3f040, "plainbox-provider plugin: init PROVIDERPATH"), which initializes PROVIDERPATH so host provider/test definitions can't leak into the build.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: Maintainer ~sergiusens linked snapcraft PR #1611 as the resolution; that PR was merged as commit 467e3f040 ("plainbox-provider plugin: init PROVIDERPATH"), setting PROVIDERPATH so plainbox no longer searches hard-coded host paths when validating the first provider.

Issue body

When running validation of a provider, plainbox itself will search for other providers in a number of hard-coded locations unless the build environment declares a PROVIDERPATH. Therefore, it is possible that the first provider could currently fail to validate as test definitions could leak in to the snap build for the build host.
