Current evaluation

Fixed by snapcraft#3047 (commit 2e6549953), correcting install_stage_packages() output so manifest stage-packages entries are valid. The fix landed on edge; no release was affected.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: The resolving PR #3047 was merged as commit 2e6549953 and fixed the invalid returned package strings. The reporter confirmed the fix was available on edge and noted that it never reached a Snapcraft release.

Issue body

Recent snap-store snaps started to error in the snap USN notifications service due to entries like this in the snap/manifest.yaml: stage-packages: - adwaita-icon-theme=adwaita-icon-theme=3.28.0-1ubuntu1 This was found with, for example, revision https://dashboard.snapcraft.io/snaps/snap-store/revisions/385/ with the following build url: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+snap/snap-store/+build/908905. snapcraft-version: 3.11+git50.g63fb53c3 The completed manifest.yaml for this build is attached. I would consider this at least a 'High' priority item since failure to parse the manifest.yaml means that the snap is not scanned and so publishers won't be aware of when USNs affect their snap.
