Design issue for advanced build-packages filtering was closed 2017-11-14 by sergiusens, who split the source-filtering work into a dedicated issue (snapcraft#1687) and called this one done; that work landed via PR #1817 (commit 574cd766d).

Reason: Maintainer sergiusens closed it with the comment that "sources has it's own issue now (#1687), let's consider this one done", so the advanced filtering design was handed off to snapcraft#1687. That follow-up was implemented by merged PR #1817, commit 574cd766d, which added grammar support for strings and made sources grammar-powered.
