Current evaluation

No Poetry upgrade was made. Maintainer bepri explained the plugin uses the base core's python3-poetry version (not changeable) and suggested overriding it or adding python3-poetry-plugin-export; reporter moved to uv and stopped testing, so the issue was closed.

Resolution: closed stale

Reason: The thread ended with the reporter stating in the 2026-05-14 comment that they switched all projects to uv and would not test further, after bepri explained the Poetry version is whatever the build base's python3-poetry apt package provides. No code change landed: the test project tests/spread/core24-suites/plugins/python-hello/poetry/src/pyproject.toml still uses the legacy [tool.poetry] section at HEAD (e766db5e), and no commit references poetry or poetry-plugin-export.

Issue body

### Check existing issues - [x] I've verified that this request isn't described by any existing issues. ### Request Please update to newer Poetry that uses the standard `[project]` section of `pyproject.toml`. The current `pyproject.toml` used in testing still uses the old `[tool.poetry]` section. https://github.com/canonical/snapcraft/blob/main/tests/spread/core24-suites/plugins/python-hello/poetry/src/pyproject.toml And I get the error: ``` The Poetry configuration is invalid: - The fields ['authors', 'description', 'name', 'version'] are required in package mode. ``` ### The problem it solves Not having to modify `pyproject.toml` as part of a workflow to use the Poetry plugin.
