Current evaluation

Fixed by merged PR canonical/snapcraft#3740: package-repository architectures now run dpkg --add-architecture. Merge commit: 7b848f76d.

Resolution: closed resolved

Reason: PR #3740 added architecture enabling for package repositories and was merged via commit 7b848f76d; implementation commit 7e0403d02 runs dpkg --add-architecture for configured architectures.

Issue body

Updating the steam snap for core22 and to use package-repositories I discovered that when specifying both i386 and amd64 for a repo, it doesn't actually enable the arch. I was able confirm this by launching the container and running 'dpkg --add-architecture i386'. After enabling the arch, and building again it was able to find the i386 packages.
